Staff Vitae

 

Daniel Oltrogge is a Managing Partner at 1Earth Research, LLC, which he co-founded with Robert Gist in April 2003 to perform technical consulting services to a broad range of disciplines and customers.  Dan received his BS in Aerospace Engineering from Iowa State University in 1985 and an MS in Aerospace Engineering (special emphasis in Astrodynamics) from the University of Southern California in 1987. 

Dan worked at The Aerospace Corporation from 1985 to 2003, where he received numerous accolades for innovative and time-critical efforts in the areas of early orbit launch support, mission planning, constellation design and astrodynamics software development and application.  Dan provided direct support to the Air Force Space and Missiles Center until 1995, when he relocated to Peterson Air Force Base to provide Air Force Space Command, NRO, DOD, NASA and commercial space customers with requirements analysis, program acquisition, astrodynamics studies, on-orbit operations and situational awareness. 

Dan co-founded 1Earth Research to "Bring Rocket Science Down to Earth" by applying advanced engineering and space analysis techniques, garnered through 40 years of award-winning support to government, civil, commercial and international space communities, to a broader customer base.
 

Robert Gist is a Managing Partner at 1Earth Research, LLC. Robert received a BS in Math and Physics from West Texas State (now West Texas A&M) University in 1989 and an MS in Aerospace Engineering (special emphasis in Orbital Mechanics) from the University of Texas in 1991. He performed GPS orbit determination for NOAA/NGS starting in 1991.

 

In 1992, Robert began work at The Aerospace Corporation, where was involved with orbit prediction, launch support, constellation design and astrodynamics software development. Robert was a member of the Astrodynamics Department until 2000, when he relocated to the Colorado Division to support NRO, DOD, NASA and commercial space customers with situational awareness analyses.

 

He left Aerospace to form 1Earth Research with Dan Oltrogge in April 2003.
